We primarily use Memoria Press. Member families get free shipping through our relationship with Memoria Press.
"Memoria Press’ educational philosophy can be best described as classical Christian education. Classical Christian education is the cultivation of wisdom and virtue through meditation on the Good, the True, and the Beautiful. This is accomplished in two ways: through training in the liberal arts; and through a familiarity with the great books and great thinkers of the Western tradition."
New students will undergo an assessment to determine their appropriate academic level.
On at-home days, students complete assigned work as directed by their instructor and the teacher manual (part of the curriculum package). We provide a curriculum list for easy purchasing, along with a free shipping code for Memoria Press orders. Luther Latin School class leaders also send out a weekly planner with detailed instructions to guide parents at home and offer support for grading and assessments."
Families are in service to one another, and commit to arriving on time, prepared to actively participate for the entire scheduled year (34 weeks). Absence happens; therefore, substitutes (person already part of the program) should be arranged by lead for their absences. We allow no more than 5 unexcused absences or 5 tardies per year. A Parent/Guardian should plan to remain on campus while their child is attending, unless they are in the Upper /HS DROP-OFF program. There are a variety of opportunities to volunteer including: leading & assisting class prepping class materials, arranging field trips/parties, recess monitoring and/or cleaning.
